Halloween Game Party Ideas

fun games for kids and adults

Kid and Adult Halloween Game Party Ideas. When I was kid, my favorite Halloween Game was the Fishing Game.

I loved it. I never knew what I was going to get on my little hook. I got a package of cool glow in the dark spider rings one time.

Halloween Word Search
Planning a spooky party. Pass out this Halloween search and see who completes their first.

Game 1: Fishing Game

This is how it works: Find a decent length stick or unfolded wire hanger to use as a fishing pole. Tie or tape some yarn on the end for fishing string. At the end of the string place a clothes pen (this is the hook). Kids stand behind a partition, usually a decorated sheet and place their poles over the top as if they are casting their line into a fishing hole. You stand on the other side of the sheet and clamp a prize onto their hook (clothes pen) and gently yank for them to pull their pole line back over. This game is a lot of fun and the kids love the surprise element. They never know what they’re going to get. You can set this game up in a corner or behind a small table with a sheet draped over it.

Game 2:Musical Monster Chairs

This Halloween game was another hit for me. Especially because the prize was cupcakes! Decorate the backs of the chairs with Halloween designs.

Here’s How it goes: Place several chairs in a circle. There should be one fewer chairs than there are children. Start playing some ghostly Halloween music and have the kids walk around the outside of the chairs stopping and finding a seat only when the music stops. The child left standing without a chair when the music stops, is out of the game. This is repeated until the final two players are left with one chair. The final child to sit in the last remaining chair wins.

Game 3: Bobbing for Apples

This game is for Kids or Adults and can get kind of messy, so be careful not to put it near anything that could be damaged by the water. Fill a bucket with water, place the apples in the water. The apples will float. Each child is blind- folded and attempts to grab the apple with his or her teeth. Adults must be present during this game! SAFETY FIRST

Game 4:Dancing Monster Contest

This is not so much a halloween game as an idea, but consider this: Instead of just a costume contest, hold a Dancing Monster Contest. The best dancing costume wearer is chosen by a panel of Goblin pears.

Game 5: Pet Costume Contest

Sure you may want to have a costume contest for adults, but what about the Pets? For adults, give prizes for the scariest costume, the funniest costume, and the friendliest costume! Pet Costume Party Contest: Consider getting the pets involved. That’s right, you can dress up your pets and have a pet costume contest too! For pets, you can give pet toys, grooming products, and pet food away as a gift!
