	Baby Shower Cupcake Baby Shower Cupcake Choosing baby shower cupcakes or a sheet cake? Baby Shower CupcakeThere is the option of the individual decorated baby shower cupcake. You don't have to make the traditional baby shower half-sheet cake for your guests. You can bake a couple of dozen cupcakes and buy the cutest little baby shower cupcake decorations from the party supply store. But.. if you're like my sister and just have to make it from scratch, here is a simple universal cake recipe. Universal Cake Recipe 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 1/4 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1. In large mixing bowl, mix butter and sugar together first. 2. Then add vanilla and eggs and mix well. 3. Next, add baking powder and flour and baking powder. 4. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 25-30 minutes. If you want to add a little chocolate, just add about 4 tablespoons of cocoa. Baby Shower Cupcakes Use the same recipe above. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (my oven temp is set more like 325, so vary depending on type of oven etc.) 1. Place individual cupcake papers into the each muffin pan cave. 2. Fill each one only half way. 3. Place in preheated oven (use my top shelf)for about 25 minutes. Tip: I poke a toothpick into the middle of my cupcakes to be sure they are cooked completely through. Decorating Tips 1. Opt for pink, blue, and or yellow colored icings. This is very decorative and more in keeping with the whole baby shower theme. 2. Check out your local party store for small baby shower favors and specialty cake decorations like baby bottles and pacifiers to place in the center of the cake or cupcakes. 3. Place the cake or cupcakes in the center of a decorative fabric that matches the colors or theme of the shower. 4. If you mess up, don't feel bad. Go purchase a box of cake mix add a couple of eggs, a stick of butter, and start over. No one will ever be the wiser.
