Engagement Icebreaker

I played this ice breaker game in my graduate class at SEU. It's not just limited to engagement parties. But works well with helping people get to know each other.

1. Have each person write down 4 facts about themselves. Three of the facts should be true and one of the facts must be false.

2. After everyone is done writing, have one person read his/her list aloud.

3. The others in the group try to guess which one of the facts is false.

4. When the first person is done, move on to the next person in the room.

5. The object, is the guess which fact is false. You can give a prize to the person who has the most correct guesses.

Engagement Slide Show

An Engagement Party can only be enhanced by a well- put-together slide show of the bride and groom using picture from birth to adulthood. Show these slides in between games and activities.

Add unusual music or sounds to the show for added effect.

The couple will really appreciate your efforts, not to mention they can watch the engagement party video over and over again on anniversaries and special days.

Engagement Party Game: "To Know You Is To Love You"

The engagement couple might get a little embarrassed by this activity. Keep it light and not too revealing.

Find several people who really know the bride and groom. It can be a parent, a best friend, aunt uncle, boss, etc.

Have them each tell you one embarrassing, quirky, or strange about the happy couple.

Write the stories or quotes down on index cards and share them during the party! You don't have to identify your sources if you don't want to.Think of it as a Roast on paper!

If you like you can turn this into a Trivia Game. Ask questions and have the attendees guess who the question is about, the future bride or the groom.
